The role of a Professional Toastmaster at Civic and Corporate events, private functions such as weddings and other celebratory occasions is to provide those essential first and lasting impressions and create that certain degree of formality.

This is a privilege held by few and reflects the importance of the role and responsibilities.

Custodians of Tradition

Even in today’s changing world, the need for political correctness is still a requirement.

Such occasions call for a Professional Toastmaster, who is a master of protocol and etiquette, yet with the ability to control and conduct the proceedings of both the largest and smallest events, with style and dignity.

It is this desire for perfection in procedure which has lead to a growing demand for this distinguished league of gentlemen.

Just had a brilliant conversation with a Toastmaster who I am definitely thinking of booking.

Toastmasters are more than loud voices

I thought at first that having a toastmaster would just be an extravagance but it turns out that they do much more than just announce the speeches. A Toastmaster is effectively the official buffer between the wedding party and all of the organisational hassle on the actual day. They'll make sure everyone is where they're supposed to be at the right time (a loud voice will be very useful for that) but will also make sure that all of the details are taken care of with regards to the reception venue, leaving all of us to enjoy the day.

Hired toastmaster means happy father?

If I do hire the toastmaster, it means Dad won't burst a blood vessel worrying about whether everything is happening according to schedule! It's nice to think that if something does go a bit pear-shaped the Toastmaster will be able to sort it out so that it won't impact upon our day. I think someone with such a lovely voice in a smart red jacket adds a certain something to it all too. Oooh, I can just imagine being announced into the wedding breakfast!

A toastmaster isn't just for the wedding day apparently…

He told me that many toastmasters help well before the day itself as they're used to dealing with venues and suppliers. All I need to do is meet up well in advance to talk through all the details.

It also turns out that they can help with speeches, so I must pass the number on to Dad so his doesn't end up being a long series of mother-in-law jokes or something worse. Joe could do with a bit of a prod about that – I think I'll leave the toastmaster's number on the fridge as a hint…
