Before getting very excited about a themed wedding, spare a thought for your guests if you expect them to join in. If you want them to wear costume, be sure to give them lots of notice and help in sourcing their outfits.
If you want to have a really extraordinary wedding, but the registrar doesn't share your love for your idea, consider having the legal bits done the day before at a register office with two witnesses, freeing you to design the ceremony of your choice to celebrate with guests.
